Happy Birthday Sister 'Z'

We moved into our current home in September, 2002. We didn't know anybody in the neighborhood at the time. Before too long, we had met many of the friendly neighbors though, and were pleased at the warm welcome we received. The house just across that street from us though held some interest for us. We had not yet met the people who lived there, and assumed that they we just not very friendly folks.

How wrong we were! It turns out that they were out of town at the time. When they returned, we gradually got to know them as well. Little did we realize the wonderful friendship that would develop over the ensuing years. Bill and Vivian Zabriskie have become the dearest of friends to us. They are literally our childrens closest "Grandparents". We have grown to love them like they are part of our own family. We're not the only one's either. These two wonderful people are well loved by many in our neighborhood.

We are missing them a lot right now though, as they are currently in Forida, serving a full time mission (see Bill and Vivian's Blog) for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On August 26th, it will be "Sister Z's" birthday (as we affectionately call her), and Cora wanted to do something for her to let her know just how much she is loved. So, she invited a few friends over for lunch, and while they were enjoying a delicious lunch, they sang "Happy Birthday" to Sister 'Z'. Savannah video taped it, and here it is:

Oh, how sweet of you to do this for me! I have played it over and over. I had a hard time recognizing the lady with the long blonde hair as Kate Stitt. Can't wait to be with all of you again. You made my day.

Love,
Sister Z
